description
In 1977, a man in a cowboy suit drove over the tent of two Yale students on a cross-country bicycling trip, and then went after them with an axe, severely injuring them both. The police failed to arrest the women's assailant, and in 1992, one of the victims, Terri Jentz, now a screenwriter, traveled back to Oregon in an attempt to investigate the crime herself and gain whatever truth and justice she could. In this true-crime memoir, Jentz looks for closure.
