Spilling coffee on it is a classic technique, as is having a dog chew on it.

But if you are asking about changing the description of the book, you won't be able to do that unless the trade is canceled. If the trade is accepted but the condition of the book has degraded, you will have to contact the person who would be getting it and work things out.

Thank you Aventhar. I was afraid of that answer. Perhaps, Swaptree could make that particular change available to us in their "help center Swaptree Tools section.

That would not be a wise decision on their part at all. While most people are generally honest on the site, I would bet you all the items on my have list that some traders would begin listing items as brand new (or like new, very good, whatever) and then downgrading the condition to what their item actually is once the trade is initiated. The chance for abuse of such a system would be phenomenal.

So since that possibility is never going to happen, as I'm sure you now realize, it is your responsibility to keep the items you list on ST in a safe place, or make sure to maintain accurate listings. Sure, accidents happen, but if someone is unhappy because the item they receive from you is not in the condition you stated when they accepted the trade, they have every right to rate you accordingly. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's the way I see it.
