INR Question

Ok, to shorten the story, I filed an INR two months after the trade initially went through. The sender claims she sent it (but didn't get a tracking number for it) so Swaptree sends me an email telling me to follow a link to let them know whether I've finally gotten the book. I click the link and while there is an choice of "yes I have received" or "no i have not received" it is also asking for feedback. Do I have to leave feedback to complete the process? I've filed INRs before but it's never gone to this step, and I don't want to leave feedback if it will close the swap. Any insight?

Here's the situation, I filed an INR and swaptree contacted the other trader who said they sent the item on 10/09/09 ,so ST said they'd contact me on 10/21/09 to see if the dvd arrived. I got an email today with a link in it. I followed the link and it takes me to a page that looks like this:

have you received the item you reported missing?

__Yes – I received my item, and swaptree can therefore close my Item Not Received complaint.
__No – I still have not received my item.

user rating for this transaction:
__positive __neutral __negative

My question is this, if I mark the item as not received, they want me to rate it before I can submit. Will leaving feedback close the INR???

Thanks for any help.

Matt

The INR remains open until you report the item received. Haven't seen it in action myself, fortunately, but they changed the INR process a while back so that you have to leave feedback while confirming the item was not received instead of just reporting it not received and maybe never leaving feedback. If you do get the item you will be given the option to upgrade the rating at the same time you report it received. That's assuming you get it before any other changes are made to the process.

I was able to leave negative feedback and the INR is still open and the other trader's account is suspended.

Actually, they don't always ask you to rate. I have an INR that was filed over a month ago. I've never been asked to rate, because so far the other trader has yet to actually respond to any of ST's messages. So I think they only ask you to rate if the trader tells ST they've shipped the package. Since the trader in my situation hasn't made any contact, on my "my trades" page the link to rate is under "I have received this item", so I don't want to rate in case ST takes that to mean I've received the book.
