I have this issue, I'm new in swaptree so I'm doing everything by the book. But I'm finding out that other users, are very relax about the whole "shipping by next day" thing. I just received a message from a trader that she received my DVD (I always send them on time and with Delivery Confirmation) and she was going to watch it later, "maybe" later that evening. Then she would deliver my DVD the next morning. The trade was complete on 11/27 and items were suppose to be sent out the next day. I received her message last night 11/02. She did apologize for the delay because of being out of town on business. I know people are busy but we are suppose to follow the rules. Do I give her a negative rating? or let it go? Any thoughts?

well
if you receive your item and its as described, i would leave a neutral. she should have let you know at the time she accepted the swap that there would be a delay in shipping on her end. saying it now just means that she was waiting to get her item before she sent out yours.
mention the delay in shipping in the feedback. other people need to know that this person waits to receive before shipping so they can decide if they still want to swap with them or not.
if you receive your item and its not as it was described, then that plus the delay in shipping and the bad communication....i'd personally rate that a negative.

I meant to say that the trade was completed on 10/27 (not 11/27) no, not in the future.....
Actually that was very helpful, very good advice and I think fair too. I'll see how this works. But I got to wait even longer because her package comes from CA and I am in FL......

I've been lenient with slow shippers in the past. I would give a positive as long as the item was as described. but those days are over. The true benefit of feedback is not to vent your disappointment in the trade but to alert the next person as to any issues that they should consider. If someone takes too long to ship then it should be mentioned.
I'm in the same situation but with a longer delay. I had a 3 way trade of a CD for a CD completed on 10/22. I sent my item (a few states away) and it was received and rated by 10/27. I received my item (from 50 miles away) on 11/4 and the package had a postmark of 11/2. The CD was fine but that's simply too long to wait to ship and still receive a positive rating. Maybe if I had received a notice of a delay but I did not; I had to inquire. My guess is either the person waited to receive their item or they forgot and sent it out after receiving my message. I believe that warrants at best a neutral.
