Reporting an item missing that says delivered
OK, this is a tough one. I have a cd that I received only the case about 3 weeks ago without the actual cd inside. So I contacted the trader and they said they would send the disc. It's been 3 weeks now and I have nothing to show for it but an empty case and I can't file a INR as they used swaptree shipping? Am I hosed here? And of course it's always on high value items.

cds are not high value
tho that does not make it suck any less that you got ripped off.
you have asked this question before tho (back when you were threatening to leave swaptree) so i will ask about the suggestions that several people made back then
have you contacted swaptree about it?

FYI...
ST requires you to contact the PO first if the package shows it was delivered. The mail carrier should be able to give you some information. I would do this before contacting ST. This way it will not delay ST from getting involved. I would also let ST know the person stated they would replace the missing item 3 weeks ago. Maybe if they suspend the person's account they will act more promptly.
Good luck!

they shouldn't have to contact the PO. the item WAS delivered. they are not contesting that. what they said was that there was no cd in the cd case that was delivered. what could the post office tell them except what they already know...that the package in question WAS delivered.

I have honestly deemed contacting ST about anything as a waste of time (but I'll try). They have not responded to the trader using vulgar language to me yet, and a couple other things. Oh well, funny thing is I have had trouble on all 3 Kings of Leon discs that I was receiving. Maybe those are the untrustworthy users.

The problem with ST is they send out generic emails without really reading or understanding the contents of the problem. My suggestion is to follow their instructions to the letter so they will act immediately. Otherwise, you will waste precious time contacting them and explaining the situation repeatedly before or if they ever completely understand the cirmcumstances.
If you noticed I did suggest the person explain they have already contacted the PO. Let the PO tell you they delivered the package unopened and not damaged to your residence. The sender then cannot claim the package was tampered with and lost by the PO. Furthermore, I would also let ST know the user has expressed they were going to replace the item. There is no harm in doing this. These are only suggestions. Of course people are free to do whatever they want or feel is in their own best interest.
Good luck!

FYI
If you haven't already rated this person, you can rate negative. One of the issues that will pop up(you are forced to check something when you rate negative) is you received a CD or DVD with just the jacket and no disk inside. Then you will be contacted and go from there. It won't matter that they used a swaptree label and the case was delivered. Good luck, I hope you get your item. I have had 5 (out of 30 trades) that went INR and got all but 1 so far. FMRox
