Baby Einstein refunds
i'm wondering what everyone else thinks of the Baby Einstein refunds. personally i never thought the videos would make my 2 year old twins smarter, i just thought it was a good way to entertain them while i cooked or put up the laundry.

i totally agree
i mean, i do not think it was bad for my nieces. they could barely even play with toys without needing supervision because they were so young, but put on a dvd and let them sit and be distracted by music and obnoxious (to me, at least) animations did make it a lot easier to get stuff done when i babysat.
did it make them smarter? probably not.
was it better than personal attention? obviously not, but we cannot be tethered to a baby (or multiple babies) every minute of the day. you have to be able to get some other things done without having a bored screaming baby strapped to your back.
was it better than just putting on a different dvd or tv show? mostly yes, no commercials and no worrying if the content was bad for them or if a different show would come on that wasn't appropriate.
was it better than leaving the kids alone to play on their own where you couldn't pay absolute close attention to every detail? heck yeah. babies love to try and find new and creative ways to kill themselves or each other.
heck, they claim that dora the explorer is educational, and i do not think having a kid hope that thier backpack will talk to them or that they can make friends with weasels or whatever should be considered educational.

Baby Einstein
I agree 100 %. Who out there honestly thought that these dvds would make their baby smarter. I just wanted something that mine could watch while I cleaned or cooked. I personaly think that no one should be getting money back. I wonder how many people are going to use this since thier children have outgrown this dvd's???????

haha
Who ever gets the refunds for those dvds is the ones who truely belived in it lol! i have a DVD and when my mom bought it for my lil boy i only played it once to see what it was about and my son didnt even want to watch it! and for those who accually thought that this was a way to teach your child instead of you then i think you might want to go to parenting school if you dont know how!

tv in general
Thanks to my sister using Baby Einstein as "wind down time" before bed and naps when my nephew was an infant he's addicted to television. I am not kidding she started him on tv from the moment he got home from the hospital and now that's all he wants to do and he freaks out if he doesn't get his television. Our electricity was out for three days thanks to a storm in Aug. here and he was going insane and really angry all the time. I'm not saying it's Baby Einstein's fault though it's my sisters for allowing it. But she won't listen to reason and she gets mad and fights with my mom and me when we try and bring it up. I personally did like BE though I love classical music it's soothing and that's what they say that babies like to hear in the womb.
