description
Though New Orleans certainly got the worst of Hurricane Katrina, neighboring communities suffered as well. This documentary looks at La Place, a town located 15 miles outside the big city, where many refugees settled after the hurricane. In addition to issues of supply and shelter shortages, La Place also struggled to accommodate the newcomers in its school system, especially the young men who wanted to play football. This documentary chronicles integration of the new players with the original team, as each of the athletes clamors for equipment and playing time. Football great Terry Bradshaw serves as both the film's narrator and one of its executive producers. WALKING ON DEAD FISH is the basis for the narrative film HURRICANE SEASON.
