Tooth & Nail is often derided for the slight contradiction of merchandising punk to Christian audiences, but the reality is that even spiritually-oriented adolescents go through existential angst. And VOL. 6, like its forebears, throws a stylistic mix against the wall to see just what will stick with their listeners. On this particular comp, the straightforward emo-pop of Emory and Ivoryline tends to leave appetites whetted for more of the most successful bands here, but the art-folk of mewithouYou and New Wave maturation of Bon Voyage indicate that the imprint is headed in even more challenging directions.
