Schoolhouse Rock! [Box]

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK! collects all the songs from the 41 episodes of "Schoolhouse Rock" that aired on ABC-TV between 1973 and 1985. It also includes covers of two of the songs by the Lemonheads ("My Hero, Zero") and Goodness ("Electricity"), which originally appeared on the tribute album SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK! ROCKS (Lava 92681). It is packaged in a loose-leaf notebook with 30 pages of notes on the music and the animated TV series.

Children of the '70s and '80s should all be familiar with those wonderful and groovy little ditties that were played between cartoons on Saturday mornings called "Schoolhouse Rock!" An animated instructional clip accompanied each song (lesson subjects included numbers, the alphabet, life lessons, etc.), and the compositions were memorable, thought provoking, and were designed for children of all ages. Released on Rhino Records in 1996, the four-CD box-set SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK! gathers every single song from the 41 episodes that aired on ABC-TV between 1973 and 1985.
Included with the great music is a 30-page booklet that resembles a looseleaf notebook, chock-full of song notes and fun facts about the animated series. The best and most renowned of the bunch include the irresistible selections "Three Is a Magic Number," "My Hero, Zero," "Conjunction Junction," "I'm Just a Bill," and "Them Not-So-Dry-Bones." Also included is a pair of bonus tracks from the 1996 tribute album, SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK! ROCKS (the Lemonheads' "My Hero, Zero" and Goodness' "Electricity"), which featured '90s alternative artists covering their favorite tunes from the series. SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK! is a very fun collection that will give you a warm and friendly sense of deja vu time and time again.
