Recording information: Tribeca Studios.Continuing the unstoppably successful series, KIDZ BOP 5 presents more pop hits as sung (at least in part) by kids. Beyonce's ultra-catchy "Crazy in Love" is the first song to get the Kidz Bop Kids treatment, followed by the Outkast mega-hit "Hey Ya!" (with a few minor lyrical changes). On these and other tracks, smooth synthesizers and the children's vocals carry the tunes. The boys and girls also riff on the No Doubt version of "It's My Life," the neo-grunge of Nickelback's "Someday," and Justin Timberlake's emotive "Senorita." If anything, this compilation shows that the kids are the true stars of these collections, and the producers of future installments would be wise to feature the children (and not adults) on all the lead vocals.
