Proceeds from the sale of NO BOUNDARIES will benefit the refugees of Kosovo.
Personnel: Alanis Morissette (vocals).
Thanks to such pioneering projects as We Are The World and Bob Geldoff's Band Aid, benefit albums have become a common occurrence. NO BOUNDARIES, a collection of tracks donated by some of today's most popular names toward the relief effort for the Kosovar refugees, is admirable both musically and in terms of its moral purpose. Contributions by artists as diverse as Pearl Jam (which contributes two songs), Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLachlan, Rage Against The Machine, Ben Folds Five, Oasis, The Indigo Girls, Korn, and Jamiroquai make this an all-star outing with a conscience. Among the most notable tracks are Neil Young's stirring acoustic version of "Man Of War," Tori Amos' ghostly "Merman," and Peter Gabriel's Middle Eastern-flavored "Black Paintings." As varied in musical contributions as it is unified in social purpose, NO BOUNDARIES is a powerful musical and humanitarian document.
