description
They Might Be Giants: John Flansburgh (vocals, guitar); John Linnell (vocals, keyboards).

Additional personnel: Graham Maby, Tony Maimone (bass); Brian Doherty (drums).

Producers: Paul Fox, They Might Be Giants, Pat Dillett.

The lead track of this four-song EP is "Snail Shell," taken from They Might Be Giants' concurrent album, JOHN HENRY. Clearly relishing the new, expanded line-up, the song grooves along for longer than the band's early duo-based two-minute ditties had required. In fact, based on their first few albums, it might not have been foreseeable just how funky they would become.

Also included is "Snail Dust," a remix by the Dust Brothers. The band has also revisited an older single, "She Was A Hotel Detective" (from their eponymous debut album), and one new number, "Mrs. Train," which, in the grand tradition of train songs, chugs along like a locomotive getting up to speed.
